3.1.3 Searching for residues of uninstalled databases
If you cannot install SQL Server 2005 Express or SQL Server 2000 after you
have uninstalled a database, there could be directories which have not been
removed. Residue data can still exist if the TIS-Office installation is not
complete.
Search for "*sql*", for example, to delete directories that are no longer used.
You can search
• in Explorer, in the "Program Files" directory,
•via [start] > Control Panel > Add or remove Programs (Software) or
•via [start] > Search.
Important
The information here is based upon SQL Server 2005 Express and SQL Server
2005. These represent all the database versions described in Chapter 2.2
"Database requirements" from page 2-4.
Tip
Save your backup files in a separate folder (e.g. "C:\Transfer") and delete them
only after a final installation check.
Stop the SQL Server via the SQL Server Configuration Manager to delete
databases that are no longer needed; also refer to Chapter 3.2.3 "SQL Server
Configuration Manager" from page 3-17.
